My Art

Sketching, doodling and copying cartoon characters have been part of my life since primary school. Singing and dancing, i.e. the passion for musical theatre followed in high school together with the knowledge that a non-artistic education would bring me financial stability. Therefore, I chose an international career in the hospitality industry after having obtained a bachelor’s in hospitality management from the Glion Institute.

Once I was back in Zurich, Switzerland, my passion for the arts led to an industry change and a master’s in arts administration from the University of Zurich. A career at the opera house Zurich followed, where I learnt that the people backstage are as important as the ones on stage. In my rare spare time, I kept developing my acrylic painting and drawing skills.

I was subsequently a freelancer, supporting individuals or groups in the performing arts with their project and production management, organizational, and process development. The joy to work impactful with people and the desire to spend more time as a producing artist, brought me finally to Vancouver in 2014 where I got certified and accredited as a coach and neuro-linguistic programming practitioner from Erickson International College and the International Coaching Federation.

Being a professional coach enables me to combine all my experience and skills in service of individuals and teams, while at the same time actively draw and make art prints. I have joined the Malaspina Printmakers studio and organization as a board member and artist on Granville Island.

Seized by Education

This talk was over ten years ago, every word is still true today.

Ken Robinson says schools kill creativity

I’m committed to working with youth for them to discover their vocation and life vision; supporting mastery in the interplay of the physical, emotional and rational mind for a purposeful, fulfilled life and a creative, productive community.

Participating as a coach and offering pro-bono sessions in the program ‘Chance to Choose’ run by S.U.C.C.E.S.S is one way of doing this.

We all deserve to know how to change how we feel about our personal history, to learn how to look at things differently and develop solutions.

I believe that coaching should be part of a teacher’s training and part of any secondary school curriculum. The benefits range from fostering confidence, awareness, focus and improve overall health, communication and teamwork. That leads to a state of productivity and balance, from which not only the individual profits but also their families, friends and work colleagues. Also, it leads youth to choose a career/profession that truly is in line with their values and their ways, rather than pursuing a path because of an external belief or social pressure.

Feeling very passionate about this, I have developed a youth program myself that I call ‘360 Degree Life’. It guides participants through seven modules, with the goals of increasing life skills and creating a long-term mindset of resourcefulness. This is achieved by passing on and applying techniques from the area of coaching, neuro-linguistic programming and the performing arts.

Research has shown that we don’t even know today what sort of professions will be part of our lives in the future. What we do know is that a creative, resourceful, confident human being is more likely to succeed and thrive in any given new, potentially challenging situation. Isn’t this the mandate of education and what we want for our youth; to be safe, succeed and be happy?

Get in touch if this struck a chord, and you like to discuss potential cooperation. I’m curious to hear your input.

Giving Back & Forward

How are you giving back and forward? I’ve had everything growing up, including a loving family and an exceptional education. I support others either by working for free or by giving donations. I believe in initiatives that enable people to develop and help themselves. Creating a balance between the rational and the creative, which allows us, humans, to thrive. Therefore,  I’ve joined initiatives that help people through coaching, education, or that support artist and bring art to the community.

Find out more about the organizations I’ve chosen:

My Doodle Art

All my pieces are inspired by people, nature and values.

Recently I have started printmaking, and I have absolutely fallen for oil monotype prints including a technique called Chine Collée 🙂 I am honoured to work at the studio of malaspina printmakers on Granville Island in Vancouver.

The Benefits

You are becoming aware of your patterns, way of working, motivations and beliefs. Also, you will learn how to work with emotions productively, rather than be run by them. You become and stay productive on all levels (physical, emotional, intellectual) in any given situation.

The fact is that people in transition are at risk of being not their most productive selves.  A transition might be a change of career, setting up a business, taking on a new role etc. With it comes uncertainty and fears. Fear in a person can result in the most unproductive behaviour for the business and themselves.

I support people in a transition, not because I think they cannot make it themselves. I work with them because I believe they will make it through faster, more successful and even have some fun. Humans operating at maximum productivity live in a state of personal confidence, contentment and motivation.

Combined with the structural elements of a solid administration it is a major key to business success. It ensures operational efficiency, which leaves time to focus on business development.

My coaching and training techniques will help pull your many skills, abilities and experience together to create a plan to achieve both personal and professional goals, consistent with your deepest beliefs and values.

‘Maximum productivity’ means that people have control, are aware and choose to (re)act in a way that is most beneficial to the business and themselves in any given situation. It affects the physical, emotional and intellectual areas of a person. Read about the benefits.
